Introducing the other side of a Drum Horse “Serendipity” (1/2 Clydesdale 1/2 Gypsy) born 8/17/21 out of the Making Pegasus Clydesdale Dam “Celtic Farrah”  and by Two time Gypsy National Champion 15.3 hand “Seneca”. 

 A drum horse is a modern heavy riding and driving horse, developed by crossing Shire, Clydesdale, and Gypsy Horse bloodlines. Historically, they were used by the British military to carry kettle drums in royal parades, a role still upheld today by the Household Cavalry. These horses are bred for a calm, willing temperament and a powerful, athletic build. 

“Serendipity” is currently a solid 16.2 hands and will grow for at least another year adding another inch or so most likely topping out at 17 hands.

“Serendipity” has bold and agile movement, is very eager, intelligent and excellent temperament. He has a powerful carriage and solid balance. 

One day during breeding season we had brought “Celtic Farrah” (“Serendipty’s” dam) into our breeding area to check her estrus cycle for breeding when we saw a recently born foal cast against a fence who couldn’t figure out how to roll the other way to get up.  We rushed out to that paddock to help the foal and when the foal was up and ok we heard a ruckus back in the breeding area and saw that “Seneca” had jumped out of his stall and was breeding “Celtic Farrah” who was not who we had planned for her.  Well, she was ready to be bred and 11 months later a colt was born who was given the name that means ‘a fortunate accident’ “Serendipity”.
