Introducing “Morpheus” (3/4 Friesian 1/4 Spotted Draft) born 2/24/21 out of the Matrix through Making Pegasus Dam “Vanna” (1/2 Friesian 1/2 Spotted Draft) and by KFPS approved breeding Friesian stallion “Matthys 504” Sport Elite AAA who was champion of the 2020 Friesian Licensing in the Netherlands and the Champion of the Stallion show that year. Friesians just don’t get any better.
“Morpheus” echoes his sire’s high stepping movement and his dam’s power coming through her Friesian sire “Zero Gravity”. “Morpheus” is currently 16 hands and will grow for another couple years adding another inch or two.
The name Morpheus is significant because it is the name of the Greek god of dreams, derived from the Greek word for "form" or "shape" (𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑝ℎ). This reflects his role in shaping dreams into human form for mortals. It has also come to represent sleep and dreams in a general sense and has been adopted in modern contexts, such as in the "The Matrix" franchise, to symbolize control over a constructed reality, as well as inspiring the name for the drug morphine due to its sleep-inducing properties. The name is famously used for the character in the "The Matrix" movies who guides the protagonist, Neo, through the dream-like, simulated reality of the Matrix which is what the Making Pegasus project is all about.
“Morpheus” is jet black with a great mane and tail.
His Dam, “Vanna” has muscle that is truly remarkable. When we vaccinate her the needles often pop off of the syringe as it is like injecting a brick. Her son, “Morpheus” has the same steel-like muscle. It is an understatement to say he is strong.
