“Leonidas” echoes “Sandro Hit’s” movement and his dam’s bone and power coming through her Friesian and Percheron lines.  “Leonidas” is currently a solid  17.0 hands and will grow for at least another year maybe adding another inch or so.

“Leonidas” acquires his name from the king of the Ancient Greek city-state of Sparta, Leonidas. He was the son of king Anaxandridas II and the 17th king of the Agiad dynasty.  Leonidas led the famous 300 men who formed the allied Greek forces in a last stand at the Battle of Thermopylae (480 BC), attempting to defend the pass from the invading Persian army of over 200,000.  Fierce and brave, “Leonidas” led ‘The 300’ who were committed to defending Greece and achieved immortality by their intelligence and strength and sheer will.
