Introducing “Leonidas” (1/2 Warmblood 1/4 Friesian 1/4 Percheron) born 5/16/21 out of the Making Pegasus Dam “Ebony” (1/2 Friesian 1/2 Percheron) and by one of the ultimate Warmblood stallions in the world “Sandro Hit” who is 1st place as the WBFSH All-Time Dressage stallion rankings and has been in the top ten for ten years.  “Sandro Hit” produced the record number of five offspring who participated in the Olympic Games in Tokyo Japan.  Warmbloods just don’t get any better than this.

“Leonidas” echoes “Sandro Hit’s” movement and his dam’s bone and power coming through her Friesian and Percheron lines.  “Leonidas” is currently a solid  17.0 hands and will grow for at least another year maybe adding another inch or so.

“Leonidas” acquires his name from the king of the Ancient Greek city-state of Sparta, Leonidas. He was the son of king Anaxandridas II and the 17th king of the Agiad dynasty.  Leonidas led the famous 300 men who formed the allied Greek forces in a last stand at the Battle of Thermopylae (480 BC), attempting to defend the pass from the invading Persian army of over 200,000.  Fierce and brave, “Leonidas” led ‘The 300’ who were committed to defending Greece and achieved immortality by their intelligence and strength and sheer will.

Sire Accolades: From 2017 to 2018, Sandro Hit ranked second in the WBFSH World Rankings for the most successful dressage stallions and has consistently remained among the top three since 2019. A German National Champion and World Champion for six-year-old dressage horses, Sandro Hit is also trained through Grand Prix level.

In 2015, he achieved a fourth-place ranking in the WBFSH Dressage Stallion standings, and from 2010 to 2012, he earned the USEF/Performance Horse Registry Leading Sire Award in the United States as the nation’s top dressage sire.
